The idea -- if you haven't seen any of my previous half birthday posts -- is to have "half a celebration." So the kids get 1/2 a birthday dinner, 1/2 a cake, 1/2 a present, and when they're older they can have 1/2 a party. The logistics in my brain are they can choose one item for dinner, they get a small present, and, when they're older, they can have a friend or two over. The 1/2 a cake is the somewhat easy part. (Though I didn't make one this time since she can't eat it. Next year. We did have a little dessert though.)
Rosie Posie had peas for dinner...
Don't let that first image fool you. She LOVES her peas.
And she wants to feed herself.
After dinner she attacked her present...
I found this adorable soft book. One she can actually chew on.
She might look unimpressed by it but she likes it. Gives her something to squish and look at that she can't easily ruin.
My little girl got some delicious smashed bananas for dessert.
I'd say it was her favorite sweet but it's also the only "sweet" she's tried.
Simon and I enjoyed some citrus sherbet. Yum!
She got some love from her brother...
And some love from the dog...
It appears she didn't really want people invading her space on her special 1/2 day.
I just can't believe my sweet baby is six months old already!
I could just eat her and all her sweet expressions up.
Instead, I share them with you.
